The Grand Tour will hit our Amazon Prime screens this Friday, the 4th of September 2026, with an all new cast… or as the teaser trailer says they’ve replaced the knobs in the cars!
I was fortunate to attend the premiere on Wednesday evening, and while I’m not at liberty to tell you what happens in the first episode, I can promise you it’s well worth watching as new presenters – YouTubers Thomas Holland and James Englesman alongside social media personality and train enthusiast Francis Bourgeois pick up the reins of the show.
The great news, after the first couple of minutes it was so typically ‘The Grand Tour’, that I totally forgot about Clarkson, Hammond & May and it was as if nothing had changed. While the OGs are amazing, the show goes on and if you loved previous series then you’ll love the rebooted 2026 series too.
And it has to be said that Clarkson, Hammond & May were at the premiere and full of praise for the new team – they loved the show just as much as the audience did. So good is the show that it’s already been given the green light for another series and that’s before the first has even been aired!
And if you’re still missing Clarkson, Hammond & May, don’t worry as they do make a cameo appearance in the first episode, but they’re not getting in the way of Thomas, James and Francis who most definitely steal the limelight. And the show is full of humour and fun – even down to the hashtag ~Amazonshitcarshowreturns which can definitely be read two ways!
Set some time aside this weekend, because the entire series is due to drop this Friday and once you’ve watched on episode you’re going to want to watch another… I know I do!
