Global supply chain and fulfillment platform ShipBob has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) suite to connect to merchants’ live operations using either its agent, Bobby, or Anthropic’s Claude. ShipBob said it has built its fulfillment technology stack internally.
That stack can now “bring an end-to-end AI layer across its entire operations,” the company said in its announcement. It includes ShipBob’s model context protocol (MCP), which is what allows it to connect to merchants’ operations. An MCP is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems.
Additionally, ShipBob said it has built its technology stack since 2014 instead of buying it. As a result, “its AI is wired into real operations and can act on them directly,” according to the company.
