If you are a paying subscriber on X (which most of the world still refer to as Twitter), then you may now be tempted to use X Money which has launched for paying Premium and Premium+ subscribers in the US. It’s intended to replace your normal bank account and enable you to do pretty much anything your bank account today does for you.
Your money, on the world’s most powerful network𝕏 Money is rolling out to U. S. Premium and Premium+ subscribers starting today pic. twitter.
com/2c1UMkB4Kn— X Money (@XMoney) July 27, 2026 With X Money you can perform peer to peer payments and money transfer right within X, as well as get a metal Visa debit card known as an X Card, for offline spending and cash withdrawals at ATMs. You can even have your salary deposited in your X Money account!
Even better than spending, Premium+ subscribers can earn 6% interest on their deposits and Premium subscribers can get in on the act after meeting qualifying direct deposit requirements – and 6% is above just about any other bank interest rate going in the US.
Eligible purchases with your X Card will also accrue 3% cash back which in itself is pretty attractive. There are no fees for cash withdrawals and no fees for foreign transactions. The launch of X Money is a major stepping stone in Elon Musk’s ambition for X to be the everything social media app where you can run your entire life.
It’s also worth noting that X. com was once before a payments platform in a different life a couple of decades ago. X. com merged with Confinity and became PayPal, who controlled the URL for many years until Elon regained control of it and renamed Twitter as X.
With X Money in place, we’re wondering when X will want a cut of the transactions and start operating as a marketplace?
