Klaviyo is moving two artificial intelligence (AI) agents to public beta, eyeing use cases for marketers. The technology provider said it has built the agents into its customer relationship management (CRM) platform, allowing them to work from the same real-time customer data across marketing and service.

The agents moving to public beta are Composer, for marketing, and the Customer Agent. Klaviyo said brands including AS Beauty, Spanx and Dermalogica had early access in private beta. Klaviyo is a business-to-consumer (B2C) CRM tool. Dozens of retailers in the Top 2000 Database use it as their marketing automation platform.

The Top 2000 is a market research tool tracking North America’s largest online retailers by their annual ecommerce sales. Retailers in the database that use Klaviyo made more than $9 billion in 2025 ecommerce sales.

When the Customer Agent resolves a conversation, it notes preferences, product interest and intent signals, Klaviyo said. The Composer agent then uses that record to build smarter marketing campaigns, according to Klaviyo. And in turn, when Composer launches a campaign, the engagement informs how Customer Agent personalizes the next interaction.

The more each agent works, the smarter both become, according to Klaviyo. “Businesses aren’t struggling because they lack AI tools — they’re struggling because most AI can’t act on the context that matters,” said Jamie Domenici, chief marketing officer at Klaviyo, in a statement.

“The next era of consumer experiences will be defined by companies that can combine AI with deep customer understanding to move faster, personalize better, and turn customer insights into growth.” Why Klaviyo built the Composer AI agent Klaviyo said it built Composer to solve two main problems in marketing.

Those are: knowing where to focus and not having enough time. “Composer identifies the biggest opportunities, builds the campaigns to capture them, and executes the work automatically,” Klaviyo said in its announcement. It said Composer runs full audits of every live campaign, flow and segment. From there, it surfaces a ranked list of revenue opportunities.

Klaviyo gave the example that Composer could identify: An underperforming abandoned cart flow that hasn’t been revisited in months. A welcome journey where new customers are dropping off before their first purchase. A lapsed segment of high-value buyers who haven’t heard from a brand in months.

Upon selecting an opportunity, Composer identifies ways to improve revenue. It also gives recommendations on how to do so, building a cross-channel campaign, Klaviyo said. The agent draws on 14 years of customer context, best practices and patterns from nearly 200,000 brands, Klaviyo said.

It also factors in a specific brand’s own campaign performance and signals. Katherine Cabe, senior director of retention marketing at AS Beauty, said in a statement that Composer provided “unbelievable” visibility. “It didn’t just identify issues, it helped us understand the context behind them,” Cabe said.

“Composer’s Flow Audit tool surfaced collision issues across our 113-flow library, showing us where automations were unintentionally competing for the same customers, creating unnecessary message volume, and potential revenue loss.” Klaviyo shares Customer Agent’s functionality Customer Agent starts with the same data that powers Composer, Klaviyo said.

It said because Customer Agent comes pre-trained on a brand’s data, voice and policies, those brands “can be live from day one with no engineering.” “Now brands can go further, creating any service experience they can imagine with a single prompt,” Klaviyo said.

“A running brand could describe a ‘Find My Perfect Gear’ quiz and Klaviyo AI builds the entire experience — the questions, the logic, the product recommendations. Once live, the agent checks its own performance daily, identifies what is not resolving, and keeps improving.”

Klaviyo said Customer Agent uses pre-built connectors and application programming interfaces (APIs) to surface information and act accordingly. Instead of explaining a return policy, Klaviyo said, the Customer Agent completes the return process. And instead of describing loyalty points, it applies them.

Klaviyo said brands only have to configure the AI agent once. It then runs across web chat, email, SMS and WhatsApp. Brands can also embed it in a custom surface, according to Klaviyo.
