Full Coverage

This week I spoke to Mike Parker, CEO at Buyaparcel to find out more about their eBay Live selling. This is really interesting as most early sellers on eBay Live were offering trading cards and related collectibles or fashion. Buyaparcel sell tools and plumbing supplies and the margins for hard goods are nowhere near as generous so how do they make it work?

Mike explained that they’ve been working with their suppliers and building some of the discounts they offer on eBay Live into brand marketing budgets and introducing their tools to a new generation of tradespeople who perhaps don’t want to attend the traditional tool fairs but live their lives online on social media.

eBay Live is the perfect vehicle to market to the modern generation of tradies. And Buyaparcel have also held co-branded eBay lives with the likes of Stanley, Black & Decker and DeWalt.

This brings a whole new dimension to eBay Live selling and moves the cost of goods from the sales ledger into the marketing budget and that’s a massive shift where the focus moves from margin to awareness.
